IN-SCHOOL RECORDING SERVICES
Record your school performances We can now come to your school and record your GCSE and A level compositions and performances

As a commitment to the development of music education we are pleased to be able to offer a unique service that will ensure that your students' work is presented in the best possible way. While you concentrate on the music we will take care of the technology right there in your classroom.

Our experienced trainers will record your students' work at your school either by utilising and enhancing your own equipment or by bringing everything needed to ensure the best possible results.

At the same time you will be able to get a close up and informative view of how it's done and also learn from the experience. We charge a minimum fee to reflect our dedication and we are certain you will be delighted and enlightened by the experience.

TOP TEN TIPS...
Until you book us to come to your school, here’s our top ten tips to help improve your recordings!
  1. Record digitally if at all possible - it’ll help keep the hiss down
  2. Try to isolate the recording ‘engineer’ from the performers - so that they can make accurate judgements about the quality of the recording
  3. Record outside the normal school day to reduce unwanted external sounds
  4. Try using a mixer and individual microphones to record ensembles, even if only recording to a stereo recorder
  5. Alternatively, use two identical condenser microphones set at right- angles to each other to capture a stereo recording of any group
  6. If you have access to them, borrow a couple of free-standing display screens to help control loud instruments, especially drums!
  7. Use balanced (XLR) cables to reduce the chance of picking up hum or other noises
  8. Use condenser microphones rather than dynamic mics, especially for quieter instruments
  9. Use a popper stopper in order to avoid annoying ‘pops’ from over-enthusiastic vocalists
  10. Use effects very sparingly to enhance recordings - however a little reverberation on any recording will help to remove the ‘boxiness’ of any recording made in a classroom - see effects units
